Scott Paul Pinot Noir La Paulee 2006

A terrific artisanal Pinot Noir from Oregon, we loved this wine and had to share it with you. Ask Matt why we brought it in when you see him in the store.

Wine Advocate, October 2008, 91 points. "The 2006 Pinot Noir La Paulee is a blend of several well-known vineyards. Medium ruby-colored, the nose reveals cherry, raspberry, cedar, and earth notes. Velvety-textured, bordering on opulent, the wine has superior depth and concentration, enough structure to evolve for several years, and a persistent, fruit-filled finish. Drink it from 2010-2018."

Wine Spectator, September 30, 2008, 90 points. "Bright, vibrant and distinctive for its strawberry and raspberry fruit, riding high over a base of lively acidity and fine tannins. Hints at rose petal and white pepper as the finish keeps zinging. Best from 2009 through 2014. 2,000 cases made. –HS"

Scott Paul Wines - http://www.scottpaul.com/ - "La Paulée is named after the traditional harvest celebration in Burgundy that began centuries ago. What began as a small dinner party at each estate for their pickers and winery crews has evolved into a grand festival in the Burgundian village of Meursault each November, with hundreds of Burgundy's top producers and their guests settling in for an 8-hour lunch, with each attendee bringing several great old bottles from their cellars to share with the group."
