Wine Spectator Review

91 points. "Ripe, generous and spicy, with a peppery edge to the allspice-scented plum and dark berry flavors, persisting on the solid, round finish. Best from 2010 through 2016. 345 cases made. –HS"

Siduri's tasting notes:

"The 2006 vintage is proving to be one of the most “showy” vintages for us in our Oregon roster. Maybe a bit warmer than usual turned out to be a great thing in 2006.

We have been tasting some of the most interesting Oregon wines we’ve produced to date. Mainly for two reasons: Intense flavors and low alcohol levels. It is rare that the two show up in the same wine, but we got it in ’06. This wine, right out of the gate, lets you know that it is Willamette Valley grown. Earth, Mushrooms and cured meats are the first things that you will notice on the nose. As the wine opens up, there are flavors of red berries, strawberries and floral notes.

This is a complex, pretty wine that could easily be mistaken for a Morey St. Denis in a blind tasting. The finish is long and velvety. The 2006 Muirfield is a wine that is rich in texture, but not heavy-handed. It is drinking well now, but should continue to develop layers over the next 2-5 years."
